A model of the twin-screwed whaler WALTER RAU to a scale of 1:100. The Walter Rau was built in 1937 by the Deutsche Werft in Hamburg. It has a total length of 175 m and weighs in at 13,751 GRT. Besides this construction model of the whaling flotilla flagship, the DSM is also in possession of an original whaler, the WALTER RAU IX.
