In 1972 the town of Bremerhaven gifted this ship to the German Maritime Museum. It was built in the USA in 1919. Following the completion of extensive renovation work, the ship is now the central focus point of the museum fleet and has become a symbol of the town. Since 1996 it has been possible to perform marriage ceremonies on board the SEUTE DEERN.
