Nordic Jagt GRÖNLAND
The history of German polar research shipping began in 1868 with the completion of the nordic yacht GRÖNLAND. The GRÖNLAND reached the furthest point north recorded reliably for a sailing vessel without auxiliary motor and the GRÖNLAND is still sailing.
As an active vessel with lots of tradition, the GRÖNLAND is not only a floating ambassador for the German Maritime Museum, it also plays an important role in the gathering of experience and data about shipping in the days before the advent of modern engine systems and technology
