The exhibition halls display relevant aspects of the maritime history and culture of Catalonia. The halls explain the history and features of the Royal Shipyards' building, naval construction, traditional fishing, the world of galleys, the history of geographic discoveries, cartography and navigation instruments, sail navigation of the 18th and 19th centuries and mechanically propelled navigation from the 19th century to the present. Art works, artefacts related to different maritime activities and photographic documentation from the museum collection, help to explain the subjects of the exhibition halls.
